Two insurgents were killed in Marouf District while planting IEDs

Kandahar Afghanistan: Two Taliban affiliated insurgents trying to plant IEDs were killed when their IED went off in Marouf District of Kandahar Province last night.
The two of them were trying to plant IEDs close to the living compound of a local police commander in Ghondai village of the above mentioned district.
In addition to Marouf, another Taliban affiliated mine-setter was killed by an ISAF air-strike in Panjwai District of the province; his radio and an AK-47 were confiscated by security forces.
Six Taliban fighters were killed in Spin Buldak District

Kandahar Afghanistan: Six Taliban fighters were killed and their weapons were seized in joint clearance operations by Afghan and NATO Forces in the Spin Buldak District of Kandahar Province yesterday.
The operation was based on exact intelligence information and has targeted the compound in Koh Ada village of Buldak where insurgents were accommodated.

U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan calls Kandahar Governor to express his condolences

Kabul based U.S. Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker called Kandahar Governor and expressed his huge sympathies and condolences over yesterday’s back to back terrorist attacks in Kandahar.

Kandahar Afghanistan: Afghan National Police discovered and safely exploded a Motorbike-born Improvised Explosives Device during clearing operation in Maywand District Kandahar Province yesterday.
The motorbike was born and charged by the insurgents and was luckily discovered and exploded by the ANP. ANP has avoided a miserable incident by discovering this motorbike.
Seeds distribution to farmers in Daman has been started

Kandahar Afghanistan: distribution of seeds and chemical fertilizer by the Ministry of agriculture and live-stocks has been launched in Daman District of Kandahar Province. 1200 farmers will receive fertilizers and wheat seeds during the autumn campaign.
“Wheat seeds and Yourya fertilizers are included in agricultural supplies and will be given each farmer for 2000 Afghani” said Engineer Ahmad Shah Roshan Director of the Kandahar Agriculture and live-stock while distributing supplies to the farmers.
Kandahar Afghanistan: Three women were martyred and two others wounded after their living compound was hit by an ISAF mortar in Zhari District Kandahar Province.
Incident took place when an ISAF launched mortar incidentally hit a civilian compound in Nalgham village of the mention district on Saturday morning.
Kandahar Afghanistan: Afghan National Police have seized and confiscated 1270 kilograms of opium and raw hashish and 63 kilograms of gun-powder during operation in Pajwai District of Kandahar Province yesterday.
686 kilograms of opium and 590 kilograms of raw hashish are included in the big amount of drugs which were discovered and confiscated in Taloqaan villages of the Panjwai District yesterday.
Kandahar Afghanistan: Afghan National Security Forces detained two insurgents’ financiers and a well-known and most wanted insurgent commander in Zhari District of Kandahar province. Some weapons and ammunitions were also confiscated.
The operation has launched in Kandiyalay and Sanzari villages of Zhari District, Haji Feroz Jaan and Abdullah the two financiers of the insurgents were seized in the result.
NDS has detected the plot of a suicide attack in a mosque

One amongst the three insurgents is a local commander, another one is a suicide attacker and third is their facilitator and all three of them are residents of Kandahar City
Three IEDs placed on a high way were discovered and defused by ANP

Kandahar Afghanistan: Afghan National Police had discovered and defused three IEDs which were placed by the insurgents on a high that goes to the Khakriz District of Kandahar Province.
The IEDs were placed on a very busy way which has too many traffic in Cheenartoo village of the district and tens of the local civilians are this route to get to the district center.
Three insurgents including a suicide bomber were detained by the NDS in Kandahar

Kandahar Afghanistan: Three armed insurgents including a suicide bomber were detained by the National Directorate of Security in Kandahar on the night of Eid-ul-Udha.
A mini-bus vehicle full of explosives was also discovered and confiscated by the NDS officials along with the three insurgents. Insurgent had the intention of detonating the vehicle on Eid days which was luckily discovered.
ANP finds insurgents’ weapons cache and ammunition

Kandahar Afghanistan: Afghan National Police have discovered and seized a huge insurgents’ depot and some ammunitions during searching operation at the 15th security region of the Kandahar City yesterday.
Two rocket launchers, ten rocket rounds, two walk talky radios, two hundred AK-47 bullets, 100 PK bullets, ten rocket grenades, a binocular, a hand grenade, 200 batteries and a small number of night letters were caught from the depot.
Kandahar Afghanistan: an armed insurgent was killed in firefight between Afghan National Police and armed insurgents in Zhari District Kandahar Province.
The corpse of the insurgent was left on the spot. The insurgent was killed after a group of insurgent equipped with small arms attacked a police checkpoint in Nalgham village of the above mentioned district at 04 pm this afternoon.

Kandahar Afghanistan: Chief of Kandahar Security says that nine armed insurgents were killed, 2 wounded and nine others have been detained by Afghan National Police in combined operation with other security organs.
“Nine insurgents were killed in fire fight and two others detained amongst the wounded individuals in Kandahar City and districts” Chief of Kandahar Security Colonel Rahmatullah Atrafi added while briefing the media on their achievements in the last week.
Eight armed insurgents joined the Peace Process in Kandahar

A tribal elder has been freed during peace process in Arghandab

Kandahar Afghanistan: An Arghandab District Tribal Elder was released in the peace process and joined his siblings after 15 months of detention in a Bagram Detention Facility.
Haji Raz Mohammad is a resident of Haji Kala village Arghandab District and was detained by joint security forces after he was accused of having ties and regulars links with the insurgents.
Residents of Zhari are to return back to their home villages

Kandahar Afghanistan: Zhari Disrict Governor says that security situation is extremely improved and people who have abandoned their homes dues to battles have promised him of returning back to their home villages.
A huge gathering to encourage villagers to return to their homes was organized at the District Center. District Governor, Head and all members of the District Development Council, Commanders of District based security forces and tens of tribal elders participated in the meeting.
